Shakhtar Donetsk star Alex Teixeira is set to join Chinese side Jiangsu Suning in a deal worth £35million, according to reports from the Daily Mail.
Teixeira has been heavily linked with a move away from the Ukranian top flight in recent weeks, with Chelsea and Liverpool both monitoring the skilful attacking midfielder.
And it seemed as if the Brazilian was going to join one of the two Premier League sides, with Teixeira admitting his desire to play in the English top flight amid the interest.
However, the Blues and the Reds were reluctant to meet Shakhtar’s high asking price for the player, ending any possibility of a transfer.
The Premier League giants were prepared to make another move in the summer, but it looks as if they’ve been beaten by Suning in the chase for Teixeira.
The proposed £35million transfer of Teixiera to Suning will see him join fellow countryman Ramires, who arrived from Chelsea via a £25million deal last month.
