Shakhtar Donetsk star Alex Teixeira has confirmed talks with Chelsea ahead of the January transfer window, according to reports from the Metro.
Teixeira has been heavily linked with a move away from the Ukrainian top flight in recent weeks, with the Brazilian courted by the Blues and Juventus this term.
Jose Mourinho’s men have had a miserable campaign following their championship winning season, and one of their main problems has been their lack of attacking output.
The likes of star winger Eden Hazard and striker Diego Costa have both struggled for form, and Mourinho is looking to add to that area in the January window.
One of their top targets is Teixeira, who has scored an amazing 26 goals in 26 games for Shakhtar halfway through the term.
And according to Italian source Tuttojuve, the 25-year-old has confirmed that he held talks with Chelsea, boosting Mourinho’s chances of landing him in the January market.
“I know there is interest from Chelsea and there have been some talks, but at the moment nothing is concrete,” he said.
“Now I just want to go on vacation in Brazil then I will see what the future holds.”
