New Manchester City signing Wilfried Bony is in line to make his club debut when his side host Newcastle United in the Premier League this weekend, Express reports.
The 26-year-old only recently returned from the African Cup of Nations, where his Ivory Coast side were crowned champions of the tournament.
Manuel Pellegrini is believed to be planning to play Bony alongside Sergio Aguero in the hopes that they can begin working together before City face Barcelona in the Champions League round-of-16.
The Ivory Coast international is now seen as the club’s second striker, moving ahead of both Edin Dzeko and Stevan Jovetic in the pecking order.
Along with the return of their new forward, Pellegrini will also be boosted by the return of star midfielder Yaya Toure from the tournament, a player that is considered a vital member of the squad.
The team have been struggling heavily without the services of the Toure in recent weeks, picking up only one win in six while he was on international duty.
