£30m Man United target may stay if club qualify for Champions League

Southampton believe that star man Sadio Mane will not leave if they qualify for the Champions League next season, according to reports from the Mirror.

Mane has been heavily linked with a move away from the St. Mary’s at the end of the season, with Manchester United and Bayern Munich both keen on the £30million rated Senegal international.

The Red Devils even launched a bid last summer, but the Saints were reluctant to sell Mane so near to the transfer deadline, prompting United to sign Antony Martial instead.

However, Mane has had a difficult second season with Southampton and has been considering his options amid a new contract offer from the club.

But, the south coast side believe that if they are able to qualify for Europe’s top tier competition, then Mane may opt to stay at the Saint Mary’s despite interest from other big sides.

Defensive midfielder Victor Wanyama, who is a target for Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, may also chose to remain with Southampton in order to test his ability in the Champions League.
