33-goal Arsenal and Man United target reveals La Liga desire

Arsenal and Manchester United have been halted in their chase for Borussia Dortmund star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after he revealed his desire to play for Real Madrid, BeIN Sports reports.

The 26-year-old has been linked with the two Premier League giants for quite some time and has once again emerged as a top attacking target after a sensational campaign.

Apart from the two mentioned sides, Paris Saint Germain and Real are also keen on the striker, with his latest revelations likely to affect the pair.

Aubameyang played down a return to France following a spell with Saint-Etienne while admitting that he promised his grandfather that he would play for Real Madrid one day.

“PSG? That’s not my objective,” he said.

“I can’t say anything else about it. I can’t see any reason to go back to France when I left three years ago.

“Real Madrid? There is no agreement but I promised my grandfather I would play there one day. Why wouldn’t I want to discover new things?

“As I’ve said several times, I’d like to play in Spain and have good weather for once in my life!”

Liverpool are also said to be keeping a close eye on his situation given that manager Jurgen Klopp previously worked with the Gabon international during his time with Dortmund.

He has already featured 39 times in all competitions for his side this term, so far managing to score 33 goals while providing another 11 assists.
