Juventus have alerted Manchester United that Arturo Vidal is set to be sold at the end of the season, unless his form greatly improves over the course of the campaign, Express reports.
Vidal has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford for some time, with the Chile international close to joining United on a £40million deal this past summer.
But the switch failed to materialize due to the Red Devils’ concern over Vidal’s niggling knee injuries, as well as the midfielder himself wishing to stay with the Serie A champions.
This season, however, Vidal has played nowhere near the club’s high expectations and is now not a guaranteed starter in Massimiliano Allegri’s midfield.
Paul Pogba has become Juve’s key midfielder alongside Andrea Pirlo and Claudio Marchisio, which could finally force Vidal to leave the club since joining in 2011
The Red Devils have been in the market for a world class midfielder in the past few windows, and could once again turn to Vidal if priority target Kevin Strootman from Roma fails to join Louis van Gaal’s side.
