Portuguese super-agent Jorge Mendes is looking to push David de Gea to Real Madrid after falling out with Manchester United, Daily Star reports.
Mendes is hoping to complete De Gea’s move to Madrid this summer, with the European champions willing to pay £50million for the Spain number one’s services.
He has several other big name clients including Angel di Maria, Cristiano Ronaldo, as well as De Gea’s team-mate Radamel Falcao.
United have been dealing with Mendes for several years now, but the relationship between the two parties recently turned sour after manager Louis van Gaal blasted the agent for his comments in the aftermath of Falcao’s axe from the starting eleven.
This could therefore also affect the situation surrounding David de Gea, who will be out of contract in the summer of 2016.
Despite the Spaniard wishing to stay at Old Trafford, it is understood that De Gea is keen to play for a side capable of winning more trophies, with one Premier League title his only major achievement so far.
And with the Red Devils already securing former Barcelona star Victor Valdes, United now have an adequate replacement for the 24-year-old shot-stopper.
