AC Milan have begun talks with Arsenal over a move for outcast striker Nicklas Bendtner, Mirror Football report.
The Denmark international spent last term on loan at Sunderland, but the Stadium of Light side opted not to make the Scandinavian’s move permanent.
Upon returning to the Emirates Stadium Bendtner has been told that he is surplus to requirements after the summer signings of Olivier Giroud and Lukas Podolski.
Milan are eager to bolster their attacking options after selling Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Paris Saint-Germain earlier in the transfer window, and are eyeing Bendtner at a cut-price £5 million.
However, the Serie A outfit are undergoing financial difficulties and as such would prefer to loan the Arsenal striker first before a potential permanent switch next summer.
Surprisingly Juventus have also been linked with a move for Bendtner, who is keen to leave north London before the end of the week to avoid spending the first half of the season with the Arsenal reserves.
