The Togolese marksman has been on the sidelines with a knee injury, but has revealed that he returned to training on Tuesday and felt no ill effects after participation.
“Just finished training, really happy with the progress, knee is looking much better. Working on my fitness for Sunday,” the African striker commented on his Twitter account.
The news will be of relief to Spurs fans, as Rafael van der Vaart is also rated as 50-50 for the clash with Arsenal Wenger’s men.
The Netherlands international has been unavailable for Spurs’ last three fixtures due to a calf strain, but again the player has admitted that a Sunday return is the goal.
“I’m recovering well from my injury,” Van der Vaart told his official website.
“I expect to be joining the team training on Wednesday after which I will start to focus on the match against Arsenal. I’ll be happy to play Arsenal. I can’t wait,” he concluded.
The game is crucial for both sides in the battle for a top four finish, as Spurs look to complete the double over their archrivals this season at the Emirates Stadium.
