Mario Balotelli’s agent has admitted that he will speak to Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp in an attempt to bring the Italian flop back to Anfield.
The former Manchester City striker was signed by Brendan Rodgers following the sale of Luis Suarez, but failed to make an impression in a forgettable 12 months on Merseyside.
The Reds have since loaned Balotelli back to AC Milan, but the striker has had issues with injuries since returning to his homeland.
With Klopp replacing Rodgers in the Anfield hotseat, Mino Raiola has confessed that he will try to gauge the centre forward’s potential future role at the English club.
“For sure. That is part of my job, to speak to all the managers – I know Klopp from (representing) Mkhitaryan at Dortmund,” The Daily Mail quote the representative as saying.
“If we talk about the quality and the talent Mario has, that is without question.
“Then you also need a manager that believes in you and gives you the chance to prove yourself. We will talk to him when it is time to talk to him.
“Whether Klopp has a plan for him or not – I don’t know, I haven’t spoken to him about this or to Liverpool. I think it is too soon.”
Liverpool have ambitions of finishing in the top four this season but have shown inconsistency since Klopp took over at the club.
With Daniel Sturridge largely injured again this season, either Divock Origi, Christian Benteke or Roberto Firmino has led the line for the Reds but none have cemented the role as first-choice.
