The agent of Manchester United goalkeeper Victor Valdes has confirmed that he is looking to leave the club this January, according to reports from talkSPORT.
Valdes only joined United in the January transfer window last season, but after a bust-up with manager Louis van Gaal during the summer, the former Barcelona shot-stopper has found himself on the outskirts of the first-team.
And despite his contract running out next summer, Valdes’ agent Gines Carvajal revealed on Spanish radio that his client will look to leave in January, and will be offered first-team football wherever he goes.
He said: “He’ll have a chance (to play) in January, wherever he goes.
“He needs to go to a place he feels is right for him.”
Carvajal went on to add that Valdes isn’t looking to return to Spain, boosting Premier League club’s chances of signing the 33-year-old.
“He won’t be coming to Spain, unless he decides otherwise,” he said.
Valdes made two Premier League appearances last season, keeping one clean sheet.
