The agent of now former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has dismissed there being any official offer from Manchester United, according to reports from the Guardian.
Mourinho was sacked by the Blues last week following a series of poor results, with the club already losing nine out of their 17 league games so far this term.
The Portuguese guided Chelsea to their third Premier League title last season and fans have been outraged by the board’s decision to let go of the manager, citing the players as the reason for their downfall.
However, now the focus has shifted to Man United boss Louis van Gaal, who is coming under considerable pressure following a six-game win-less streak.
This has seen Mourinho instantly favourite to take over Van Gaal’s position, but super-agent Jorge Mendes has claimed that there has been no approach from the Red Devils for his client.
“There is nothing,” Mendes said. “We don’t know what will happen in the future, but now there is no agreement. There isn’t an official proposal either, that’s not true.”
A Man United loss at the hands of Stoke City this weekend could result in Van Gaal axed before the New Year.
