Arsenal and Manchester United are tipped to miss out on the services of Real Madrid star Karim Benzema after his agent Karim Djaziri confirmed his stay, according to reports from the Express.
The 27-year-old emerged as a top striking candidate for the Premier League pair this summer, with speculation even linking the France international with a Bernabeu exit.
Benzema was even tipped to lose his central attacking role under new Real manager Rafa Benitez, but Djaziri is confident that his client is going nowhere.
“Karim is very happy at Real Madrid and he will be a Real Madrid player by the end of this transfer window, 1,000 per cent,” he said.
“Karim is not looking to move anywhere this summer.”
However, despite his £40million valuation, both clubs were said to be willing to meet the demands of the La Liga giants in order to push the move forward.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has been a long-time admirer of the striker and is keen to provide Olivier Giroud with some competition up top.
United manager Louis van Gaal has been left with a rather limited selection of forwards following the departures of Radamel Falcao as well as Robin Van Persie to Chelsea and Fenerbahce respectively.
