The agent of Roma star Mattia Destro has flown to London, suggesting that he could meet Arsenal to discuss a possible transfer, according to Football Italia.
The highly-rated striker has been heavily linked with a move away from the Stadio Olimpico recently, with reports already stating that Destro rejected a move to play for Serie A side Torino.
With Arsenal extremely keen on signing another striker after Yaya Sanogo and Lukas Podolski’s loan moves, Destro has become a top target for manager Arsene Wenger.
And Claudio Vigorelli, who represents Destro as his agent, has flown to London and is set to meet Gunners’ representatives.
But there could be some stiff competition from another London club in Tottenham Hotspur, who are looking to make a potential swap seal with misfiring attacker Roberto Soldado going in the other direction.
Destro has found it difficult to break into the first team playing second-fiddle to the evergreen Francesco Totti, playing 17 games but seven of them coming from the bench.
