Liverpool have opened talks to sign Monaco ace Radamel Falcao, who is currently on loan at Manchester United, according to reports from the Express.
United have the option of signing Falcao on a full-time basis at the end of the campaign, however the Red Devils are set to pass on the deal following a poor first season in the Premier League from the Colombian.
This has therefore opened the door for an exit, with Chelsea and Liverpool both keen on his services.
But it seems that Falcao’s agent Jorge Mendes has made contact with the Reds in the hopes of facilitating a move.
The Merseyside club have struggled for a consistent goal-scorer ever since the departure of Luis Suarez to Barcelona last July, with summer signings Rickie Lambert and Mario Balotelli failing to fill the void.
Star striker Daniel Sturridge has also been injured for most of the campaign, giving Mendes the incentive to try and persuade Kop manager Brendan Rodgers to sign his client on a permanent contract.
Falcao has only scored four league goals in 22 games this season.
