Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in Emmanuel Emenike, who was previously a striking target for Chelsea, has been confirmed by his agent Erdem Konyar, Metro reports.
It is also believed that Spurs have tabled an offer of around £7.8million, a number that could appeal to Fenerbahce as they are considering his sale this month.
Konkar said: “Tottenham have really only one striker right now so it is not a surprise that they are interested.”
Although the club currently have Roberto Soldado and Emmanuel Adebayor available, they been relying on the likes of Harry Kane for most of the season, prompting Mauricio Pochettino to consider another attacker.
Emenike was hugely linked to the Blues during the summer and was even rejected in their £16million bid to lure him to Stamford Bridge.
However, despite attracting huge interest for his World Cup displays, his value seemed to have dropped after seeing a decline in form for his side, netting only two goals in 13 appearances.
