Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti believes Joe Cole wil remain at the Stamford Bridge outfit next season despite being out of contract in the summer.

Talks over new terms have been placed on hold until the season ends and the diminutive star has been tipped to leave the Londoners but Ancelotti is hopeful he will extend stay.

Chelsea are preparing for their crucial clash against Wigan Athletic on Sunday, knowing a win would bring the Premier League title to the club for the first time since 2006.

Speaking to reporters, Ancelotti said:"Joe Cole will stay here. In January I said that no one would come in, and nobody came in.

"So I think that Joe will stay. We have ten days to wait because the club will speak with Joe Cole, and the other players that are going to be at the end of their contracts, after the FA Cup final."Subscribe to Football FanCast News Headlines by Email
