Tom Huddlestone, Tottenham midfielder

Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas is set to let Michael Dawson and Tom Huddlestone leave the club before the end of the transfer window according to The Guardian.

The England international duo were both omitted from the Spurs squad that lost 2-1 to Newcastle on the opening day of the season, with the Portuguese trainer set to let the pair leave White Hart Lane.

Huddlestone is just getting back to fitness after a long-term injury ruled him out of the bulk of last season, and the midfielder will be allowed to leave the side on loan after not fitting into Villas-Boas' plans.

Stoke are leading the chasing for the burly midfielder's services, with a deal set to be concluded in the next ten days.

Dawson meanwhile has fallen behind a number of other central defenders at the north London club, and Villas-Boas preferred to use William Gallas and Younes Kaboul at the weekend.

The former club captain is set to be allowed to leave also before the end of August, with Villas-Boas keen to sell the defender.
