Chelsea star Asmir Begovic has come out to back manager Jose Mourinho to lead the squad out of their current slump, according to reports from the Express.
The 28-year-old is currently the first-choice goalkeeper at the club following a serious knee injury to Thibaut Courtois.
Mourinho has come under heavy fire in recent months given his team’s terrible start to their title defence campaign, losing four out of their first eight Premier League matches.
However, Begovic has revealed that the team is in good hands given that the Portuguese boss is the best manager in the world.
“It’s a long season, we know in football these things happen, even to the best teams; we need to keep fighting and hopefully things will turn for us, our performances and our luck,” he said.
“That’s the only comforting thing: we have the best manager in the world. We believe in him and he believes in us. We will turn things around.”
The Blues will be hoping to finally get back on track when they face Aston Villa on Saturday before travelling to face Dynamo Kyiv in the Champions League group stages later next week.
