Despite Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson’s best attempts to tell the football world on Monday that it was unlikely United would sign anybody else this summer, The Daily Mail is reporting that United’s chief executive David Gill insists they will sign one more player in this transfer window.
The English Champions have been linked with whole plethora of talent this summer but after the captures of Ashley Young, David De Gea and Phil Jones for close to £60 million, the spending was thought to be over.
However Gill told MUTV: ‘We are looking at one more player to bring in. We’ve been looking at a particular position and two or three players in that position.’ With names like Wesley Sneijder and Samir Nasri all strongly linked, these players are now thought to be back on United’s radar. Things could still prove difficult in their capture however, with Nasri thought to prefer a move to derby rivals City and Sneijder still insistent that he is happy with life in Italy.
Two remaining targets that are thought to be more attainable however are Roma duo, Daniele De Rossi and forward Mirko Vucinic.
