Another Man United keeper left angered after Van Gaal loan snub

Manchester United goalkeeper Sam Johnstone has been left angered at the club for rejecting his plea for a loan elsewhere, according to reports from the Daily Mail.

The 22-year-old was tipped to make an appearance in the opening fixtures of the Premier League after David De Gea and Victor Valdes were both linked with an exit.

However, manager Louis van Gaal instead benched Johnstone for the first game against Tottenham Hotspur and selected free agent signing Sergio Romero to stand between the sticks.

The keeper even played the most minutes for his side during the preseason tour in the United States, but was snubbed in favour of Romero who only joined the club a few days before the start of the current campaign.

His agent Jordan Segal revealed that the United man wanted to play regular football elsewhere, but was denied the option of leaving by the Dutch boss.

He becomes the third Red Devils keeper linked with an Old Trafford departure in the summer after De Gea and Valdes missed out on moves to Real Madrid and Besiktas respectively.
