Lazio ace Ricardo Kishna revealed that he snubbed a move to Arsenal during the summer, according to reports from the Daily Star.
Kishna was signed by the Bianococelesti just recently from Ajax in a £2.9million deal, and has quickly found himself as in important first-team player for manager Stefano Pioli so far this season.
However, the 20-year-old Dutchman has stated that during the transfer window he was close to joining several teams before going to the Stadio Olimpico, with the Emirates one of the destinations that he chose to turn down.
He said: “I had a good rapport with the Biancocelesti from the first moment.
“I was a fan of Serie A and Lazio were one of the most entertaining sides to watch. they had a fresh and enjoyable style of football, plus they scored lots of goals.
“When I met the Coach and director of sport in Brussels, they convinced me straight away.
“I thought this proposal was very important for me because I was looking for a club, but also people to work with who would satisfy me.
“They wanted me because I could cover any of the attacking positions. For Lazio I turned down sides like Juventus, Roma and Arsenal.”
Arsenal have just come off an amazing 3-0 victory over Manchester United during the weekend, with the result sending them to second on the Premier League table.
But, Arsene Wenger’s men have been extremely disappointing so far in Europe, losing both of their Champions League group stage fixtures and could have used more depth in the their squad with the addition of Kishna.
Last season for Ajax, the winger made 40 appearances in all competitions, scoring seven goals and supplying 13 assists.
