Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has received the Premier League Player of the Month award for January, according to reports from Goal.
Aguero has had a brilliant 2016 so far for the Sky Blues, scoring five goals in City’s last four games to beat the likes of Tottenham Hotspur youngster Dele Alli and Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino to the accolade.
The Argentina international’s good form has helped the Sky Blues’ consistently keep up with league leaders Leicester City, with Aguero scoring a brace to help earn their only draw against West Ham United in between three victories.
However, City didn’t do a clean sweep with Southampton boss Ronald Koeman picking up the Manager of the Month award, as the Dutchman guided his side to also three wins out of four, in which he kept a clean sheet in all four games.
This weekend sees Aguero and co play Leicester City at the Etihad Stadium, a game that will have a huge impact on the title race.
