Argentine opens door to Premier League move

Roma defender Nicolas Burdisso has vowed to leave the Italian club in order to boost his World Cup ambition, as reported by Sky Sports.

The Argentinean international has been a bit part player for club and country in recent months and so is hoping for regular football at the highest level in order to make it on the plane to Brazil next summer.

Manchester United and Arsenal have both been linked with a move for the 32 year old who has played just three times in Serie A this season for high flying Roma.

A number of clubs from Spain, Germany, France and England would be interested in signing Burdisso though and the central defender will make a final decision on his future after Christmas but before the January transfer window opens.

“I will do all I can to be part of the World Cup squad,” Burdisso said.

“If necessary, I will even think about leaving Roma. I will decide after Christmas.”
