Arsenal are on the verge of completing a deal for Mohamed Elneny after they are said to have agreed a transfer fee with FC Basel, Metro reports.
The 23-year-old is expected to be brought in as a January back-up to injured duo Francis Coquelin and Santi Cazorla in order to continue their fight for the Premier League title.
Elneny has already enjoyed a successful spell with his current side, winning three league titles and has been on good form in the Europa League this season.
The fee for the Egypt international is said to be around the £10million region, an amount that is cheaper than other midfield targets being linked with a switch to the Emirates.
His potential addition could be seen as a huge boost heading into the second half of the campaign for manager Arsene Wenger given his team’s recent displays.
The Gunners are currently second on the Premier League table, two points behind leaders Leicester City after picking up three consecutive league wins this month.
