Arsenal could be given a boost in their bid to sign Morgan Schneiderlin with Southampton considering Jordy Clasie as his replacement, Mirror reports.
The 23-year-old Netherlands international has already worked under Ronald Koeman during his time at Feyenoord and could once again be reunited if Arsene Wenger manages to secure a deal for the French midfielder.
Although the Saints have ruled out a January exit for Schneiderlin, the club believe that the Gunners will be back in the race for his signature during the summer, prompting Koeman to prepare himself should that be the case.
Clasie is said to share a close relationship with his former manager after admitting that he was heartbroken when he decided to move to the Premier League ahead of the new campaign.
Despite Wenger’s attempt to sign the current club midfielder, he, along with Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers, is also keeping a close eye on the Dutch star should he be available for a switch.
