Premier League sides Arsenal and Chelsea have beaten Ligue 1 opposition in pre-season, with the London teams beating Lyon and Paris Saint-Germain respectively.
Th Gunners dispatched Lyon 6-0 at the Emirates Stadium, with youngster Alex Iwobi getting on the scoresheet in an impressive debut performances, as per the BBC.
Olivier Giroud, Aaron Ramsey and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain all also got on the scoresheet, while Mesut Ozil and Santi Cazorla both hit the back of the net in the rout.
The performance will have the North Londoners full of confidence ahead of the new campaign, especially as they were missing Jack Wilshere, Danny Welbeck and Alexis Sanchez.
Chelsea meanwhile had to go to penalties to overcome Paris Saint-Germain, as per The Daily Mail.
The Ligue 1 champions eliminated Jose Mourinho’s side from the Champions League last season and the Blues exacted a bit of revenge here.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic netted the opener for the French side, before forgotten man Victor Moses tied up the scores.
With the game level at 1-1, it went to penalties, with Thibaut Courtois an unlikely hero by scoring the decisive spot kick for the West Londoners.
