Arsenal and Chelsea have been boosted in their chase for Newcastle United star Moussa Sissoko after the midfielder once again restated that he wants to play in the Champions League, Express reports.
Sissoko was heavily linked with a move away from St. James’ Park during the summer, but the Frenchman decided to remain with the Magpies for at least another season amid interest from the Gunners, the Blues, Liverpool, and Tottenham Hotspur.

However, the 26-year-old is adamant of one day playing in Europe’s elite competition, yet he remains focused on his current job at hand of getting Newcastle out of the relegation zone.
“I hope to play in the Champions League one day. Newcastle did everything to keep me [in the summer],” he told French channel Canal+.
“Yes of course [I want to continue at Newcastle], I have a contract with them. “Lots of things could happen but I leave my agent to deal with all that.”
The Tyneside club are rock bottom of the Premier League table with just 3 points from their opening eight games, and if their poor performances continues, Sissoko could become a transfer target next summer.
Champions Chelsea and Arsenal will therefore have the advantage, as both clubs are consistently involved in the Champions League despite the Blues currently 16th on the table.
