Premier League pair Arsenal and Everton have declared their interest in Almeria winger Edgar Mendez by sending scouts to keep an eye on the player, Express reports.
The 23-year-old is said to only be rated at £2million, a fee that is likely to be in favour of the English duo as they hope to add some reinforcements to the first team.
An attribute which has caught the eye of the scouts is believed to be his immense pace and is even tipped to be faster than Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale.
His team is currently struggling in the La Liga at 18th place and should no improvements be made over their form, Mendez could be keen on moving to an improved side.
The Spaniard has made 18 appearances so far this season, notching three goals and providing one assist with both Arsene Wenger and Roberto Martinez considering a move.
