Arsenal and Liverpool have been dealt a blow in their chase to sign Iker Casillas after the Real Madrid veteran revealed that he has no intentions of leaving the club, Metro reports.
The 33-year-old looks to have lost his place in the starting 11 over the past few months, prompting the Premier League duo to make a move, but with the season under way, he seems to retained his regular role between the sticks.
Casillas said: “There are no reasons to leave Real Madrid.
I still want to win many titles with this jersey.”
The Spanish keeper has already made 22 appearances for his side this season and has helped his side top the La Liga ahead of the new year.
He was also linked for a potential departure after speculation arose that Carlo Ancelotti was planning to make a mega bid to try and lure Manchester United number one David de Gea to the Bernabeu.
