Arsenal and Liverpool are keeping a close eye on Newcastle United starlet Rolando Aarons after it was revealed that he rejected a contract offer made by the club, Daily Star reports.
He was offered a new deal with wages of around £6000 per week, a number that is said to not be in line with the potential of the promising 19-year-old.
A club source stated: “The contract is what you would expect them to offer someone in the reserve team not one of their best youngsters.”
His halt in negotiations has alerted both Brendan Rodgers and Arsene Wenger as they both look to add the pacey winger to their squad if the Magpies are unable to come to terms with the winger.
During a few of his appearances under Alan Pardew, Aarons was tipped to follow in the footsteps of Reds star Raheem Sterling with his club already believed be preparing a new offer to extend his stay at St James Park.
