Arsenal and Liverpool target Denis Cheryshev has revealed that he doesn’t regret snubbing a move to the Premier League from Real Madrid, Express reports.
The 24-year-old was said to be the subject of a £15million bidding war from the two English giants, but the winger eventually decided to stay in Spain.
He impressed last season on loan with Villarreal, making 26 La Liga appearances while scoring four goals and providing a further nine assists, alerting a number of clubs to his abilities.
Despite being linked with a host of teams during the summer, Cheryshev admitted that he is very happy to have rejected the chance to leave.
“Everything you do is for the best. That’s what happened and I have nothing to regret,” he said.
“I’m in good spirits. Of course, you want to play more, but it’s not an easy situation. You need to stay strong and keep your chin up.”
The winger has been given very limited playing time under Real boss Rafael Benitez this term, featuring from the bench two times while only managing to register a total of 33 playing minutes from a possible 12 La Liga matches (whoscored.com).
Apart from the two mentioned clubs, the Russia international was also being linked with a switch to Everton as well.
