Arsenal and Manchester United are set to go head to head in the battle to sign Ajax wonderkid Abdelhak Nouri, according to reports from the Daily Mail.
Nouri has become one of the most coveted teenagers in European football after making his debut for the Ajax second team at the age of 18, and the Gunners and United are both keen on adding him into their ranks.
Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal has been monitoring Nouri for some time given his close association with the Dutch club, while Arsenal’s scouting team led by Steve Rowley have identified the youngster as a potential talent.
However, the big duo are not the only clubs looking at the central midfielder, with Southampton, Tottenham Hotspur, and Everton all keep tabs on the Netherlands U18 captain.
At this rate, Nouri is expected to be part of the Ajax senior squad before the end of the season, and manager Frank de Boer will have to evaluate whether to keep him next summer.
