Arsenal and Manchester United target Ilkay Gundogan has signed a new deal with Borussia Dortmund, according to reports from the Express.
The 24-year-old was heavily linked with a switch to the Premier League this summer, but looks to have made a transfer u-turn by penning a two-year contract.
Gundogan confirmed his new deal and is now setting his sights on pre-season as well as the upcoming campaign.
“I am glad that we finally have clarity and I can continue playing football for Borussia Dortmund. I can direct my focus from now on entirely on pre-season,” he said.
The Germany international was earlier tipped to be on his way out of the Bundesliga giants following the departure of manager Jurgen Klopp.
The club’s sporting director Michael Zorc revealed his delight at completing the negotiations to keep another star player in the squad.
“We are pleased that Ilkay will continue to play for Borussia Dortmund. I am convinced that he will play his part in helping BVB reach its sporting goals,” he said.
