Arsenal and Manchester United target Arturo Vidal has agreed terms over a £28million move to Bayern Munich from Juventus, according to reports from the Express.
The 28-year-old was heavily linked with a switch to the Premier League ahead of the summer window, but has now decided to join the Bundesliga giants.
Vidal is now set to undergo his medical at the club with Bayern chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge confirming that a deal has been struck with the Serie A champions.
“I can confirm that we have reached an agreement in principle between both parties and the player,” he said.
“It lacks only the medical examination and the signing of the contract. Should everything run smoothly, Arturo will start training with the club next week.”
It was earlier believed that the Chile international was favouring a move to the Emirates, with rumours even suggesting that the transfer was set to take place.
His name was on the United shopping list ever since the previous summer, but interest in the midfielder looks to have cooled down following the arrivals of Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin.
He has been a key member for the Italian giants this past term, featuring 45 times in all competitions while scoring eight goals and providing a further four assists.
