Arsenal and Manchester United target Martin Odegaard looks to have caused a shock after the Norwegian media tipped him to make a move to Southampton despite heavy interest from the European elites, Daily Star reports.
The 16-year-old wonderkid has been travelling around Europe to visit a number of sides, including that of the Gunners and United, along with the training facilities of both Bayern Munich as well as Real Madrid.
Despite heavily interest from the mentioned teams, Odegaard is said to be interested in joining Ronald Koeman due to the Saints reputation of developing young talent.
He was previously linked with a move to the Bundesliga champions, but his father, Hans Erik Odegaard played down any possiblilty of his son joining Bayen while also adding that no formal decision has been made.
He said: “No, we do not think [Martin will sign a contract today]. But this is to comment and talk about things we have chosen not to go into.
“I have read that he has been ready to sign for 10 clubs. As far as I know his decision has not happened yet.
“I will not talk too much about our schedule ahead. But what I can say is that Martin is soon going on his Christmas break.”
