Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur target Sven Bender has signed a new deal with Borussia Dortmund, according to reports from the Express.
The 26-year-old has now committed his future to the club until 2021, ending hopes of a potential move to the Premier League.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has been keen to sign the versatile defensive midfielder for the past few seasons, but a formal transfer failed to materialize.
Spurs also wanted to add the Germany international into their ranks this past summer, but after failing to secure his services, manager Mauricio Pochettino has instead deployed defender Eric Dier into the role.
A host of Dortmund stars, included Bender is being linked with an exit during the upcoming transfer market, but he is now hoping his teammates will continue their stay following his decision to sign a new deal.
He has already featured 22 times in all competitions for his side this term, providing two assists and previously won back to back Bundesliga titles with Dortmund in 2011 and 2012.
