Swansea City star Wilfried Bony has recently revealed his decision to extend his stay at the club, halting potential moves to both Arsenal and Tottenham, Daily Star reports.
The 25-year-old striker burst onto the scenes in his first Premier League season with the Swans by netting 16 goals in 27 starts and has become a top attacking target ever since the close of the 2013-2014 campaign.
“Negotiations are going very well. Hopefully things will be done this week,” he said.
“I have a great relationship with my team-mates, the staff and fans. It is a fantastic club and I am I am happy to be here.
“I am focused on Swansea and a one-year extension would be perfect for me.”
If an agreement over his deal is reached, he will be set to add another year to his contract, a move that will see remain at the Liberty Stadium up until 2018.
About a month ago, he even revealed that all the news stating he was linked with a potential exit were all just speculation, adding even more evidence to the fact that he is likely to remain at the club.
“If I wanted to go, I would have done,” he said.
“But there has never been anything other than speculation about the departure in Monaco, Liverpool or Tottenham.”
