Arsenal boosted as Barcelona ready to cash in on attacking star

Arsenal have been boosted in their chase to sign Pedro, with the Barcelona star tipped to leave in the summer before his contract expires, according to reports from the Metro.

The 27-year-old will see his current deal end in the summer of 2016, but with his reluctance to extend his deal, the Spanish giants could sell him before letting him leave on a free transfer.

Pedro has been finding it extremely difficult to hold down a regular role under Barca manager Luis Enrique, especially having to fight for a place against the likes of Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Luis Suarez in the pecking order.

The Spain international was linked with a move to join the Gunners in the January window, while Premier League rivals Liverpool are also said to be in contention for his signature.

However, Arsene Wenger may have a slight advantage as the winger shares a close relationship with summer signing Alexis Sanchez, and may be persuaded towards a switch to the Emirates.
