Arsenal have reignited interest in signing Ilkay Gundogan amid speculation that Borussia Dortmund are ready to cash in on his services, according to Bild.
The 25-year-old will see his current contract at the club expire in 2017, but talks over an extension has so far been halted.
Given that Dortmund are valuing him at around the £23million region, they could decide to push his exit in order to avoid seeing the midfielder leave on a free transfer next year.
The Gunners have been long-term admirers of the Germany international and are expected to step up their attempts to lure him to the Emirates in the summer.
However, they may face competition from both Manchester City and Liverpool as the Premier League pair are also keeping a close eye on the situation of the player.
He has already featured 35 times in all competitions for his side this term, so far managing to score three goals while providing another seven assists.
