Arsenal are hoping to see Jack Wilshere return to action following his lengthy spell on the sidelines as they prepare for the busy December schedule, Mirror reports.
The 23-year-old is closing in on his comeback from a hairline fracture that has so far kept him out since the start of the current Premier League campaign.
It seems that Wilshere could return at the perfect time for manager Arsene Wenger given the number of unavailable first team players along with the upcoming Christmas period.
The Gunners have been struck with a host of injuries in recent week, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Theo Walcott, Hector Bellerin, Aaron Ramsey, and Danny Welbeck all sidelined.
Wenger will be looking to use the services of the midfielder during the Boxing Day game against Southampton, the match against Bournemouth two days later, and then Newcastle United on January 2nd.
His side have been on great form so far in the domestic campaign as they sit level of points with Manchester City in first place, but are trailing behind due to their lower goal difference.
