Arsenal boss admits striker signing inevitable

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has admitted that he wants to sign a striker in the summer to help out Olivier Giroud, as reported by Sky Sports.

The French forward scored the only goal as the Gunners cemented fourth place with a 1-0 win over West Brom this afternoon and Wenger now wants to start thinking about summer signings.

Arsenal have relied on Giroud all season long as their main striker, but the club want to take that burden off of him next season.

The Gunners boss admits that a forward is at the top of their shopping list but knows it will be hard to find the right man for the right price.

“Maybe we have over-played him at some stage,” Wenger said of Giroud.

“There is perhaps room for an attacking player who can play in a different position to Giroud. Someone who can play with him as well.

“But I do not know yet who will be on the market.”
