Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed that star defender Hector Bellerin is also set to miss the North London Derby against Tottenham Hotspur this weekend, according to reports from the Express.
Bellerin has been one of the Gunners’ star men in their recent upturn in form, but the Spaniard picked up a groin injury in their away win over Swansea last Saturday.
And his absence was felt in Arsenal’s Champions League game against Bayern Munich, as the Gunners were demolished 5-1 by the Bundesliga giants at the Allianz Arena.
After the loss, Wenger came out to reveal that it is extremely unlikely that Bellerin will be fit for the Tottenham clash, but he is at least grateful there are no new injuries.
“I don’t think Bellerin will be available for Sunday but there is a small chance,” he said.
“From tonight we don’t have any new injuries.”
Arsenal may be close to Champions League elimination, but Wenger’s men are doing well in the English top flight, with the club tied on points with league leaders Manchester City at the top of the table.
