Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has the full backing of the board, but he is worried that the fans’ recent fury is affecting his star players, according to reports from the Mirror.
Wenger has been in charge of the Gunners for almost 20 years, but despite his previous successes, is now coming under-fire following another slump during the second half of the campaign.
With the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City stuttering this term, Wenger was expected to capitalize and mount a real push for the title.
But instead, Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur are now the two favourites, irking supporters and causing them to even turn against each other after their FA Cup exit to Watford this past weekend.
However, the Frenchman will be backed 100% by the club hierarchy, yet Wenger is concerned that the likes of Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez are reluctant to extend their contracts amid the current situation.
And it doesn’t get easier for Arsenal, with their next game being against Barcelona at the Nou Camp on Wednesday, in which they will attempt to turn around a two-goal deficit.
