Arsenal boss plans major spending spree in summer transfer market

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is hoping to remain as the manager by signing several world class players in the summer transfer market, according to reports from the Mirror.

Wenger has been under some intense scrutiny the past few months, with the Gunners knocked out of all cup competitions and trailing league leaders Leicester City by a massive 11 points in the title race.

Fans are starting to turn on Wenger after years of limited success, with many urging him to leave the club at the end of the campaign.

However, the Frenchman has one year remaining on his contract, and he is expected to see out his final year by revamping the squad.

One of his targets is Southampton’s Victor Wanyama, who Wenger sees as the perfect player to add some steel to their midfield.

And as Wanyama’s foil, Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos is being eyed by Wenger, while Zlatan Ibrahimovic has already been offered to the Gunners by his agent.

Arsenal will host Watford in their next league game after the international break.
