Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is believed to be preparing to trigger the buy-out clause of Barcelona ace Sergi Samper, according to reports from the Daily Mail.
The 20-year-old has been a regular feature for the Barcelona B squad who are now in the Spanish third division after being relegated from the second tier last season, but has been given very limited game time for the senior team.
Apart from the Gunners, Portuguese giants Porto are also linked with a move for the holding midfielder, but the player is believed to be keen on a switch to the Premier League.
Barca boss Luis Enrique is said to be keen on letting the player remain at the club despite being unable to give him a regular role due to the consistent form on Sergio Busquets in the middle of the park.
Wenger is now being tipped to trigger his £8.5million release-clause after failing to sign him back in 2011 when he completed a deal for current right-back Hector Bellerin from the La Liga side.
