Arsenal close to securing deal

Arsenal will announce the loan signing of Nuri Sahin in the next 24 hours, according to The Daily Mail.

The Gunners have had a busy summer in the transfer market, signing Santi Cazorla, Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud, but losing Robin van Persie to Manchester United.

With Alex Song on the verge of completing a deal to move to Barcelona also, Arsene Wenger is keen to bolster his options in the centre of midfield.

Sahin has had a frustrating time in the Spanish capital since moving from Borussia Dortmund last summer, and has only made a handful of appearances for Jose Mourinho’s men.

Despite reported interest from Liverpool, the Gunners will confirm Sahin’s season-long loan deal on Monday.
