Arsenal are still in talks with Paris Saint-Germain star Edinson Cavani despite failing to secure his services during the summer window, according to Fichajes, as reported by the Metro.
The 28-year-old was heavily linked with a move to the Emirates during the recent transfer window, but negotiations were halted after manager Arsene Wenger refused to meet the demands of his price tag.
However, he still remains as one of the club’s top striking targets as they are said to be considering another attempt at luring him to the Premier League after impressing with six goals in his last eight league appearances so far.
Cavani is said to still have a strained relationship with PSG boss Laurent Blanc given that he is being played out of position in order to accommodate Zlatan Ibrahimovic down the middle.
Apart from the Uruguayan international, Wenger was also keeping a close eye on Real Madrid star Karim Benzema, who was also tipped to complete a summer move to England.
