Arsenal have lost out on midfield target Marcelo Brozovic, who has completed a two-year loan deal to join Inter Milan from Dinamo Zagreb, Daily Mail reports.
The 22-year-old has been a target for Arsene Wenger ever since October, who even saw the Croatian side reject his team’s initial £5million offer to bring him to England.
He was one of the many midfield candidates the Gunners were considering due to his ability to play a number of positions in the middle of the park.
Brozovic is set to feature for the Serie A side, with Inter being given the first option to sign him once his loan move comes to an end.
The Croatia international was part of his nation’s World Cup squad in Brazil and has picked up the domestic league title for his club on two occasions.
He has confirmed the move via Dinamo’s official website after admitting he will be sad to leave, but is also looking forward to the challenges ahead.
“I am delighted to have joined a big club playing in a competitive league with lots of challenges lying ahead.
“I will miss the many friends I have made at Dinamo but on the other hand, I am really looking forward to life in Italy.”
