Arsenal could be on the verge of another defensive crisis after new centre-back star Gabriel Paulista was forced off with an injury at Loftus Road, according to reports from the Express.
The 24-year-old suffered a muscle problem during the club’s 2-1 victory over Queens Park Rangers, with Laurent Koscielny being forced to take his place after only 36 minutes of play.
Paulista impressed at the weekend when he was handed his first start under Arsene Wenger in the 2-0 win against Everton, but despite being named in the first eleven, he could now miss the next few matches.
His knock now gives Wenger another selection headache in regards to keeping his defensive players fit, as Per Mertesacker and Koscielny are the only two experienced centre-backs available for selection.
In regards to the Gunners’ injury woes, they are currently without the services of Mathieu Debuchy, Mathieu Flamini, and Abou Diaby, with Aaron Ramsey only marking his return this week.
The latest setback to Paulista could see him miss the team’s upcoming FA Cup quarter-final clash with Manchester United, as well as the vital Champions League second leg game against Monaco.
